My name is Jake Lewis. I am 19 years old. I am a sophomore accounting major at the University of Florida. I am from Buffalo, NY. I am a goalie on the UF Men’s Club Ice Hockey Team and I am an active brother of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
This MyStory Website is an intellectual portfolio holding a collection of all of the work I have done this semester in ENG 1131: Writing Through Media. This course incorporates creative writing based on our interpretations of images and films. Our personal preexisting opinions and past experiences greatly influence how we interpret different images and films. On this website, you will find out about my relationship with my family, my career field, the entertainment industry, and my academic community. You will also find two of my bigger projects of this semester along with a link that will take you to another website containing everything I have written for this course throughout the semester.
As you navigate my website, you will notice how being an out-of-state student separates me from all the other students taking ENG 1131 who grew up in Florida. I believe my family values, my future career goals, the impact of the media on my life, and my past education have all been greatly influenced by my northern upbringing.
